Kiln Dried Logs

Why burn Kiln dried logs? There are many factors that make kiln dried logs beneficial the main reasons being: High Heat Output, the calorific values are higher in kiln dried wood as the moisture content is less than 20%. Logs that aren’t dry will result in a fire that smoulders and creates lots of tars and smoke, These Tars can be corrosive potentially damaging the Flue and also increasing the danger of Chimney Fires. The drying process makes certain that the sap will not spit and snap when the log burns. Wood from sustainably managed trees reduces net CO2 emissions. Kiln dried logs Will produce a Fire that is easy to light, and will burn longer and hotter with a bright natural Flame. We recommend them for use on any wood burning appliance including open fires, Multifuel stoves, firepits, chimineas and Wood burning pizza ovens. We stock Oak, Ash, Birch and Alder Available in 40L Nets, Bulk Bags And 1.2m Crates.

Chiminea Fuels

You can burn a number of different fuels in your chiminea depending on the type, the most common being either wood or charcoal.

Charcoal is particularly good for use with cast-iron chiminea's and as you know is brilliant if you want to grill a few things over the flames. It is advised never to use charcoal in a clay chimenea because of the high temperatures that it burns at.

Wood is the number one fuel for use with chimineas and fire pits. We stock the kiln Dried Logs and the Hardwood Briquettes perfect for a summer evening to take the chill out of the air and very little smoke.
